The production will run at the Royal Court Theatre from the 29th September until the 23rd October.
Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Caryl Churchill’s What If If Only, directed by James Macdonald.
Linda Bassett and John Heffernan are set to star in the production of the new play, which has a running time of 14 minutes and will run in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs before Aleshea Harris’ play Is God Is (which runs from 7.30pm Friday 10th September 2021 – Saturday 23rd October 2021), at 6pm.
John Heffernan has previously appeared at the Royal Court in Love & Information. His other theatre credits include: A Slight Ache, Carrie’s War (West End); Saint George & the Dragon, Edward II, She Stoops to Conquer, Emperor & Galilean, After the Dance, The Habit of Art, The Revenger’s Tragedy and Major Barbara (National).
Linda Bassett’s numerous credits for the Royal Court includes: Escaped Alone, Love & Information, In Basildon, Wastwater, The Stone, Lucky Dog, Far Away, The Recruiting Officer and Our Country’s Good. Her other credits include: Call the Midwife, East is East (&Tamasha Theatre Company/Birmingham rep/Theatre Royal, Stratford/West End/Tour) and Larkrise to Candleford.

The creative team behind the production includes: set design by Miriam Buether, lighting design by Prema Mehta, sound design by Christopher Shutt and assistant direction from Grace Duggan.
