NEWS: Trailers Released for Maggie & Ted

The production, which recently played at the Garrick Theatre, will now play at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre from the 12th to the 16th October.

Two new videos have been released of Martin Jarvis and Clare Bloomer starring as Sir Edward Heath and Margaret Thatcher in Maggie & Ted, ahead of the production’s run at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre next month.

Written by Michael McManus, who knew both Sir Edward Heath and Margaret Thatcher, the show shines a light on the sometime fractious working relationship between the pair.

For over 20 years Margaret Thatcher and Edward Heath enthralled and appalled the British public with their profound political disagreements, reinforced by their intense personal dislike for one another! Now Maggie and Ted are back. Mr. Europe and the Boadicea of Brexit rollick their way onto the Surrey stage.  Expect plenty of hand-bagging as the two titans of British politics reignite their long-running bitter feud!

As well as Martin Jarvis and Clare Bloomer as the central characters, the production’s cast is set to include Jon Glover, star of Spitting Image and Week Ending (and known as television’s Mr. Cholmondley-Warner) and Lisa Bowerman, a former regular on BBC TV’s Casualty (widely known as Professor Bernice Summerfield) in the celebrated Doctor Who spin-off audio series. Further casting has yet to be announced.

Maggie & Ted will play at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre from the 12th to the 16th October.
