The film, which is set to star Kirsten Stewart as Princess Diana is set to be released in November.
It has been confirmed that the new film based around the final months of Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s marriage will be released in UK and Ireland cinemas on the 5th November.
The film, which had its premiere at the Venice Festival earlier this year, is directed by Pablo Larraín, the Chilean director who is best known for the 2016 film Jackie which starred Natalie Portman as Jackie Kennedy.
The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. SPENCER is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.
The cast for this new film is led by Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana, Jack Farthing as Prince Charles. The film is also set to star Sally Hawkins, Timothy Spall and Sean Harris.
Spencer was written by Steven Knight and is set to feature cinematography by Claire Mathon, music by Jonny Greenwood and will be released by STX films.
Spencer will be released in cinemas on the 5th November.
