Guillermo del Toro’s film is set to be released in the UK on the 21st January.
A new trailer has been released for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming new film, set to be released through Searchlight Pictures next month.
When charismatic but down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle endears himself to clairvoyant Zeena and her has-been mentalist husband Pete at a travelling carnival, he crafts a golden ticket to success, using this newly acquired knowledge to grift the wealthy elite of 1940s New York society. With the virtuous Molly loyally by his side, Stanton plots to con a dangerous tycoon with the aid of a mysterious psychiatrist who might be his most formidable opponent yet.
Featuring a screenplay Guillermo del Toro and Kim Morgan, the film is based on William Lindsay Gresham’s novel. The novel was originally released in 1946 and follows the story about a charismatic huckster consumed by uncontrolled ambition.
Nightmare Alley stars: Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen and David Strathairn.
