The production is set to run at the Southwark Playhouse from the 6th to the 16th April.
Casting and creative team has been announced for Harry Tennison’s production of Flora Wilson Brown’s play, which will begin performances next month. It has been confirmed that Hannah Khalique-Brown , Ethan Moorhouse and Martha Watson Allpress will star in the production of the play that was inspired by the headlines about famous musicians abusing their young fans, and the asks the question of how you would react if your best friend was outed as one of them.
What would you do if the whole world was singing along to a song about the worst night of your life?
Hannah and Max are driving to a wedding. When they get out of the car, they’re never going to speak again. 50 miles away, Alice is talking to a journalist. When the article goes to print, her life is going to change completely.
Talking about the production, Flora Wilson Brown said: “Creating this show has been the culmination of years of conversations about fame, consent, and complicity. Because of this the show has been tough to write at times, but I’ve felt really supported to make bold choices, to make things knotty and difficult.”
The play had been due to take part in the VAULT festival 2022, but after the festival’s cancellation will now get its premiere at Southwark Playhouse from the 6th April.
The creative team behind the production includes: Set and Costume Designer Victoria Maytom, Lighting Designer Ryan Day, Sound Designer Anna Short. Meanwhile, additional music is byJohn Chisham, Stage Manager Grace Hans and Producer Emily Hunter Oulton.
