PROFILE: Como Garden, Kensington High Street

The Italian restaurant, based on Kensington High Street, is inspired by the scenery of Italy’s Lake Como and the surrounding areas.

Featuring an array of delicious Italian small plates, from beef carpaccio and arancini to homemade pasta and grilled meats and seafood, Como Garden brings Italy to London and has proved popular with customers – so much so that weekend bookings have to be made 2-3 weeks in advance.

Meanwhile, the dining area is decorated with classic Italian green and cream hues, marked with eye-catching foliage displays and hanging plants, intended to mirror the botanical gardens of the Lombardy region and making customers feel as though they are in outdoors Italy – no matter what the weather is like outside the restaurant.

The menu itself is filled with plenty of variety to choose from including antipasti tapas like pesto beef carpaccio & parmesan; arancini with fontina cheese; and peppers from Livio’s mum (oven baked beef stuffed red pepper and olive oil). Meanwhile, fresh homemade pasta dishes include tagliolini arrabbiata & gamberi; gorgeous wild mushroom semolina risotto; and the showstopper pecorino, taleggio cheese and truffle filled ravioli. You can also keep going with the a further course of grilled meats and seafood. Signatures include octopus with gremolata & roasted potatoes and marinated lemon chicken with sage butter. For something lighter, superb salads include Sicilian orange salad with olives and cashew nuts or puy lentil & apple with sweet vinaigrette.

If you have a sweet tooth, there are plenty of desserts for you to choose from – including Como Garden’s Tiramisu which is customer favourite and the Italian cheese board features carefully curated regional specialties.

Meanwhile, you can enjoy this food with Cosmo Garden’s drink menu, which includes a wine cellar full to the brim with exquisite Italian wines, ranging from full bodied reds to fruity whites, alongside a list of prosecco straight from the rolling hills of Veneto. For those who enjoy a cocktail, a menu of Italian classic cocktails and Como specials created by Como’s expert mixologist includes limoncello based Lago Ameranto (gin, limoncello, blackberries, egg white, sugar) and a delicious amaretto inspired Lecca-Lecca (vodka, amaretto, lemon juice, sugar).
