The new musical film based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be premiering in November.
It has been announced that this new modern musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol will be released in cinemas on the 11th November, before being made available to stream globally on Apple TV+ on the 18th November.
Written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, Spirited will feature new music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, plus newcomers Sukari Jones, Khiyon Hursey and Mark Sonnenblick. The film stars Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer, Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, and Jen Tullock.
The film is a musical version of the classic Christmas story by Charles Dickens. A miserly man who treats everyone around him with terrible selfishness finds himself on a fantastical adventure into the three phases of time: past, present, and future, in order to discover how he ended up so miserable and alone.
Spirited is the third collaboration between Will Ferrell and Sean Anders & John Morris, after the two Daddy’s Home movies.
The film also features costume design by Erin Benach, cinematography by Kramer Morgenthau and production design by Clayton Hartley.
