NEWS: Polka Theatre Announces 2022 Festive Season

The children’s theatre based in Wimbledon has confirmed details of its upcoming festive season.

Polka Theatre has announced its 2022 Christmas season plans, which has been tailored for young audiences and their families.

The season will see the return Grandad, Me and Teddy Too in their Adventure Theatre,a magical story that celebrates the importance of family, even at long-distances.  Running at the theatre from the 2nd December until the 29th January, it is suitable for those aged two to five years.

Meanwhile, for those aged five to twelve, the Polka Theatre will present a brand new Christmas comedy Crackers, a hilarious family farce in the Main Theatre. It will be playing at the theatre from the 19th November until the 15th January.  

As well as the performances, the theatre will also be hosting workshops or children this Christmas which include activities such as decorating Christmas crackers in Polka’s magical, snowy sensory space, storytelling sessions with a favourite teddy and comedy workshops to make laugh-out-loud scenes, with options available for a range of ages.

Talking about the announcement, Peter Glanville, Artistic Director of Polka, today said:“We are delighted to be presenting a couple of beautiful productions this Winter. Crackers is a hilarious new farce for all the family, by award-winning playwright Charles Way; whilst for younger children we have a timely revival of one of our most-loved productions Grandad, Me and Teddy Too, written and directed by Early Years specialist Sarah Argent. These shows are accompanied by a range of holiday workshops, all designed to inspire children’s creativity.  We hope to see you soon – there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy at Polka.”
