Love London Love Culture’s Christmas Themed Afternoon Tea Picks: 2022

We take a look at some of the festive themed afternoon teas that you can enjoy while visiting London during the Christmas period.

Festive Afternoon Tea at the Royal Lancaster: available to indulge in from the 26th November until the 1st January 2023, enjoy afternoon tea with a twist served in the hotel’s Hyde Cafe. Enjoy savouries such as Roast beef sandwich, English mustard and rocket served on granary bread, Roast turkey, cranberry jam on white bread before moving onto scones served with clotted cream and of course a selection of preserves – before moving onto sweet treats including a bauble made of Vanilla bavarois, caramelised apple and dulcey biscuit and a Christmas present made of Kirsch cherry mouse, dark chocolate. Make it extra special by ordering a glass of champagne, sparkling wine or non-alcoholic sparkling wine.

Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea, The Rubens at The Palace: enjoy the great British tradition of afternoon tea located within a stone’s throw of Buckingham Palace this Christmas. Filled with flavours that pay tribute to the season, sit back and relax and enjoy a range of cakes, pastries and savoury bites including a glass of mulled wine! The menu includes: Truffle, Blue Cheese & Chestnut Potato Hash Brown, festive spice and fruit scones and chocolate & caramel yule log sandwich.

The Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea, The Dilly: available from the 18th November, The Dilly will present a special festive take on their Peter Rabbit Afternoon tea which is sure to delight children and adults alike. Treats on the menu include: Mr McGregor’s Garden sandwich (Vegetable garden baguettini with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, radishes, pea shoots and red
pepper hummus), Frosty Flower-Pot Hideout (Edible chocolate pot with chamomile mousse, blackberry gel, chocolate ‘mud’ and a sugar snowflake) and Every Bunny’s Favourite (Moist carrot cake topped with cream cheese and chocolate carrot).

Festive Afternoon Tea at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane: love the theatre? Then how about indulging in an afternoon tea at the beautifully renovated Theatre Royal Drury Lane this Christmas. Available in The Grand Saloon from £49 per person – enjoy Cranberry minced pies, Gingerbread sticky toffee pudding and Christmas-themed piped cakes. It will be available to book between the 1st to the 24th December.

Christmas Carol Afternoon Tea at The Langham: fitting in with the hotel’s musical partnership with the Royal Academy of Music, this afternoon tea will be based on A Christmas Carol. Available now until the 1st January 2023, treats will include puddings titled ‘We’ll bring you some figgy pudding’ (Christmas spiced financier, fig and blackcurrant compote) and ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ (syrup sponge, honey and pine mousse, sable). The whole experience will take place in the hotel’s Palm Court.

Festive Afternoon Tea, The Milestone Hotel & Residences: available to book between the 25th November until the 8th January 2023, you can enjoy a traditional tea (£75 per person) or a champagne tea (£90 per person). Get into the festive mood by sampling an array of delicious treats including Mrs T’s Baked Vanilla Cheesecake, Caramelised White Chocolate & Cranberry Macaron and Spiced Rum Custard Tart. Served daily between 1pm-5pm, guests can enjoy this afternoon tea in the Park Lounge, contemporary Conservatory and Cheneston’s Restaurant.
