It has been announced that John Benjamin Hickey‘s production of Neil Simon’s comedy will head to the Savoy Theatre in 2024.

Following its run on Broadway, Plaza Suite will head to London’s Savoy Theatre from the 15th January until the 31st March 2024. The cast will be led by two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick and two-time Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker (who is making her West End debut in the production), who are reprising their roles from the Broadway run.
Matthew Broderick’s numerous stage credits includes: How to Succeed in Business… (Tony, DD,OCC Awards), Night Must Fall, Taller Than a Dwarf, The Producers (Tony, DD, OCC nominations) and was most recently seen in the West End in a production of The Starry Messenger.
Sarah Jessica Parker made her Broadway debut in 1976 in The Innocents directed by Harold Pinter. Her other stage credits include: Annie, How to Succeed in Business… and Once Upon a Mattress.
The pair will be playing the three different couples at the centre of the story.
Karen and Sam are a long-married pair whose relationship may be headed for an early checkout. Muriel and Jesse are former high school sweethearts who seem destined for an extended stay. And Norma and Roy are the mother and father of the bride, ready to celebrate their daughter’s nuptials – if only they can get her out of the bathroom.
As well as being directed by Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey, the production’s creative team also includes: two-time Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty (set design), Tony Award winner Jane Greenwood (costume design), five-time Tony Award winner Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Tony Award winner Scott Lehrer (sound design), Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman (incidental music), and Jim Carnahan (casting director).
Tickets for the production are set to go on sale in September.
