The exhibition is set to open on the 13th October.
It has been announced to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, an exhibition, including many of Disney’s “Crown Jewels” – more than 250 rarely-seen artefacts and works of art, costumes and props, and other incredible memorabilia will go on display at the London ExCel from this October.
The exhibition will feature 10 themed galleries showcasing renowned classics from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) to Encanto (2021), including the latest members of the Disney family – Pixar, Star Wars and MARVEL!
The Walt Disney Archives has opened its vault of treasures to curate special behind-the-scenes glimpses into the creation of the most popular characters, films, shows, and attractions – from Disneyland to Walt Disney World and beyond to celebrate 100 years of the company.
The galleries will include ‘Where Do the Stories Come From?’, a gallery where visitors can see the actual carousel horse that Dick Van Dyke rode in Mary Poppins (1964); ‘The Spirit of Adventure and Discovery’ to view the Iron Man helmet from Avengers: Infinity War (2018); and ‘The Illusion of Life’, where those visiting can admire original artwork from One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), plus the iconic red dress from the most recent film (Cruella, 2021).
For those who book to visit on Disney’s actual 100th anniversary (16th October), visitors will be able to enjoy extended opening hours until 9pm, and all tickets for the day will be VIP. This means guests will get their hands on a unique branded laminate and lanyard, an exclusive D100 Disney pin, flexible entry, and additional surprises.
