The film is set to be released in cinemas on the 12th January 2024.
A new behind the scenes video featuring Emma Stone has been released for Yorgos Lanthimos’ film, based on the 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray which is now set to be released in cinemas in January 2024.
Bella Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter. Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn, a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.
As well as reuniting Lanthimos with Stone, who previously collaborated on The Favourite, the film stars Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter.
Poor Things has been scripted by Tony McNamara and features cinematography by Robbie Ryan and costume design by Holly Waddington.
The film also marks the first film in half-a-decade break since The Favourite for Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos.
