The announcement means the first new album filled with new material since 2005.

The Rolling Stones have announced the release of their brand new single ‘Angry’, which arrives alongside the news of brand new album Hackney Diamonds which is set to be released on the 20th October. The news was confirmed at a media event which took place at the Hackney Empire and hosted by American tv star Jimmy Fallon.

Hackney Diamonds was recorded in various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas; Electric Lady Studios, New York; and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York. The track list for the 12 song album will be announced soon, with the record being available to pre-order now.

This newly announced album is the first set of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang, released on 6th September 18 years ago. Since then, The Rolling stones have continued with a series of global tours, as well as releasing Blue & Lonesome which featured their versions of many of the blues tracks that helped shape their sound.

Hackney Diamonds marks The Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) first collaboration with New York-born producer and musician Andrew Watt, who was named Producer of the Year at the 2021 GRAMMY® Awards and has worked with Post Malone, Iggy Pop and Elton John.

The single ‘Angry’ is accompanied by a music video directed by Francois Rousselet, whose credits include work with Nike, Diesel, Pharrell Williams, and on the Stones’ ‘Ride ‘Em On Down,’ from Blue & Lonesome. 

Hackney Diamonds will be released across a number of formats including a special limited RS No.9 Carnaby Red vinyl.
