The production will run at the Worplesdon Memorial Hall from the 15th to the 18th November.

Following on from their productions of Calendar Girls and The Full Monty, Sunflower Productions will be presenting a production of Honk! The Musical, which features a book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe as well as music by George Stiles.
The musical is an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling and is a story of hope, friendship and being yourself, even when the world might not be friendly. It first premiered at the Watermill Theatre in 1993 and has since had couple of UK tours and was last seen in London at the Union Theatre in 2017.
This revival of Honk! is presented by Sunflower Productions to help raise money for The Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service at The Royal Surrey which supports young people aged 16-30. The brilliant team look after patients who are diagnosed with cancer at a young age, providing individualised care and specialised advice and
support. All money raised from the production will be donated to the service.
Directed by Maria Langford, the production will bring together performers from Guildford and the surrounding areas. Discussing the production she said: “I’m so proud of our cast and very excited that it’s nearly show week. This is a really special show – not only is it a beautiful and funny retelling of a classic story but the fact we’re raising money for a fantastic cause at the same time gives it an added dimension. Do join us for a real musical theatre treat.”
This production follows on from the company’s first production in 2013 – a brilliant production of Calendar Girls that raised a wonderful £6500 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. This was followed by a production of The Full Monty that raised £18,120 for The Urology Unit at The Royal Surrey.
The performance on Friday 17th November and the matinee on Saturday 18th November will be BSL (British Sign Language) signed.
