A video of Christian Maynard performing ‘Falling’ from Rehab the musical which returns to London, following a run at the Playground Theatre in 2022.

Featuring music and lyrics by Grant Black & Murray Lachlan Young and directed by Gary Lloyd, Rehab the musical stars Christian Maynard (Miss Saigon, & Juliet), Keith Allen (Comic Strip Presents, The Pembrokeshire Murders), Mica Paris John Barr (Rehab, Playground Theatre), Carly Burns (Blood Brothers), Oscar Conlon-Morrey (Only Fools and Horses the Musical and Ian McKellen’s Mother Goose), Ben Mabberley (Hollyoaks, Tarantino Live!), Simon Shorten (Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, Miss Trunchbull in Matilda) and Rebecca Thornhill (Mama Rose in Gypsy at The Mill at Sonning – Best Musical 2023 UK Theatre Awards).

It’s 1990 and jaded 26 year-old pop star, Kid Pop, finds himself in court after being caught red handed in a drug fuelled tabloid sting. An understanding judge gives Kid the choice between jail time or six weeks in a rehabilitation centre. It’s a no-brainer for Kid, Rehab will be a holiday. How could he have got it so wrong?

Balancing comedy with the heart-breaking truth that the drugs don’t work, Rehab the Musical will sweep you up on an emotional journey with a stunning musical score that brilliantly accompanies a timeless and universal story about striving to change our lives for the better and that just for today… we’ll be ok.

Written by Grant Black, Murray Lachlan Young and Elliot Davis, the musical also features choreography by Gary Lloyd, set design by  Simon Kenny, musical supervision & arrangement by Katy Richardson, costume design by Rob Jones, lighting design by Tim Oliver, sound design by Chris Whybrow, orchestrator Jude Obermüller, casting director Anne Vosser and assistant director Alex Codd.
