This elegant and refined hotel is ideally located for both shopping and exploring.

Situated on the Passeig de Gràcia, right between Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and his Pedrera apartment block, the Majestic Hotel & Spa hits you with class and elegance from the second that you step through the door. Yes on the surface, the use of marble and columns in foyer and bar might seem slightly intimidating particularly if you are a younger guest – but there are touches of modern aspects to be found as well, particularly when you pay a visit to the hotel’s rooftop terrace which features some stunning views.
From the second you check into the hotel, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff is of the highest quality and no matter what questions you might have or assistance you require they are always on hand to help. You feel extremely well looked after throughout your stay. What is equally wonderful is that while there is an understated luxury to the hotel itself, the whole vibe and atmosphere is warm, friendly and a place that even families with young children can enjoy.
The rooms, including the one in which I stayed (which was a deluxe) are comfortable spacious and come complete with a gorgeously designed bathrooms that are luxurious to use. There is a wide variety of room choices (depending on your budget) and while it is perhaps not the most affordable place for people to stay, if you are looking for somewhere to stay for a special occasion or for a quick break with friends it is ideal – particularly with the range of amenities that it has available.
Some of the amenities include a luxurious spa, in which you can hire out the hydrotherapy centre for 45 minutes for €65 and features jacuzzi, dry sauna, steam bath and sensation shower to create a relaxing atmosphere – particularly after a long day of shopping or exploring the city. Meanwhile, there is also a range of facials and massages that you can treat yourself to along the way – you can find out more about these here. There is also a lovely pool up at the rooftop terrace for those looking for a quick dip, while taking in spectacular views of the city.
In terms of food, there are plenty of places for guests to grab something to eat. El Bar del Majestic on the ground floor, is a classy and elegant place whee you can enjoy breakfast, tapas, main courses and desert all day. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate ideal if you are looking for somewhere relaxed to enjoy yourself. Elsewhere, Restaurant SOLC’s menu includes a lunchtime menu with a selection of starters, main courses and desserts with ‘Escudella’ stew option, elaborated by the chef on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The menu is completed by fish brought in daily from the Barcelona fish market and exquisite meats from local producers whose quality is the ultimate symbol of trust. Meanwhile, La Dolce Vitae, Restaurant & Bar is a perfect place to soak up the sun and views, while enjoying the cuisine menu created by consultant chef Nandu Jubany, accompanied by the best selection of wines, champagnes, and cocktails.
Overall, Majestic Hotel & Spa is set in a wonderful location, with easy access to the centre of the city and plenty of transport options, while the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting a place to relax and enjoy the best of what Barcelona has to offer. It is worth every penny staying here.
