Review Round Up: Peter Pan, London Palladium

The annual pantomime returns, with a cast including  Jennifer Saunders and Rob Madge. But what have critics had to say about it?

WhatsOnStage: ***** “In fact, I’m not sure if there’s another production that makes this writer split his sides as much as the Palladium panto. Long may this new tradition, reignited back in 2016, continue… to the second star to the right and beyond! Absolutely fabulous and absolutely Pantastic!”

Evening Standard: **** “Occasionally there are flashes of satire with swipes at Farage, Sunak and Starmer. But what producer/director Michael Harrison’s panto evokes most of all is the Carry On film franchise. As with those corny classics, each returning performer here plays the same character, regardless of the production.”

The Telegraph: **** “Ziegfeld Follies meets the Royal Variety Performance in this high-flying hit.”

The Stage: **** “Peter Pan reimagined as a sumptuous and sometimes outrageous vaudeville extravaganza.”

iNews: **** “The Palladium panto has built a staunch following and become something like a family. Weird, wonderful and strangely touching, you’ll leave warm and grinning. Really, isn’t that all you’d want at Christmas?”

Monstagigz.com: **** 1/2 “But it’s this year’s offering that we think has been the strongest of a hilarious bunch and we already have much-welcomed confirmation that the annual pantomime will be returning to this venue in 2024.”

Peter Pan continues to play at the London Palladium until the 14th January 2024. To book tickets click here.
