It has been confirmed that Nicole Scherzinger will reprise her role as Norma Desmond in Jamie lloyd’s production when it heads to Broadway later this year.
The musical, which recently completed its run at the Savoy Theatre, will be heading to Broadway later this year with dates and theatre yet to be confirmed.
As well as Nicole Scherzinger, the Broadway run of Jamie Lloyd’s production will also see her fellow London stars Tom Francis as ‘Joe Gillis’, Grace Hodgett-Young as ‘Betty Schaefer,’ and Olivier Award® winner David Thaxton as ‘Max Von Mayerling’ all reprising their roles. Further casting will be announced in due course.
Featuring a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton as well as a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sunset Boulevard is based on the classic Billy Wilder film. It includes classic songs such as “With One Look,” “The Perfect Year,” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.”
Haunted by her memories and dreams, movie star Norma Desmond (Scherzinger) yearns to return to the big screen. A struggling screenwriter (Francis) who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope, until their dangerous and compelling relationship leads to disastrous circumstances. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, Sunset Boulevard scrutinizes the ambitions and frustrations of its characters and their intoxicating need for fame and adoration.
