NEWS: Nominations for the 2024 Oscars Announced

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer leads the way with 13 nominations, while  Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things is close behind with 11 nominations.

The official 2024 Oscar nominations have been announced today, with Christopher Nolan looking set to win his first Oscar for his film Oppenheimer, about the scientist behind the atomic bomb, which has 13 nominations in total.

Elsewhere, Martin Scorsese has earned his 10th best director nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon, with the film also earning nominations for Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro – although not for Leonardo Di Caprio.

Meanwhile, Poor Things has also done well nomination wise, picking up 11 nominations including Mark Ruffalo as best supporting actor and Yorgos Lanthimos for best director. Barbie has ended up with eight nominations ncluding adapted screenplay, supporting actor for Ryan Gosling, two separate entries for best song and supporting actress nod for America Ferrera.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place in Los Angeles on the 10th March, in a ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
