The musical adaptation of the 2010 film starring Christina Aguilera is set to begin performances at Manchester’s Opera House from the 13th to the 29th June.

It has been confirmed that Jess Folley (The Voice Kids UK and X Factor – The Band) will be leading the cast as Ali in the upcoming stage production of Burlesque. She will be joined by George Maguire as Vince, Billie-Kay as Sophia, B Terry as Georgie, Jess Qualter as Daphne, Yasmin Harrison as Brenda/dance captain, Lily Wang as Fifi, Hollie-Ann Lowe as Summer, and Alessia McDermott in the ensemble. Further casting will be announced shortly.

When Ali heads to the bright lights of New York in search of her mother, she finds herself drawn into a dazzling underground world where the beat of the music and the heat of the dance moves will change her life forever. Among this unlikely family of misfits, dreamers and schemers, Ali will unwittingly find her real voice, discover her talent, and find where she really, truly belongs.
The show, directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, features songs Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren, alongside additional songs by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley (who is also a songwriter).
Following on from its run at the Manchester Opera House, the musical will then travel to Glasgow’s Theatre Royal from the 11th to 28th September 2024, before heading back to Manchester from the 3rd October to 2nd November 2024 with a West End run also planned. Tickets for the Glasgow and second Manchester run are set to go on sale tomorrow.
