Hadestown, Lyric Theatre: finally heading to the West End, following runs on Broadway and the National Theatre, Hadestown is one of the most highly anticipated musicals of 2024. Bringing together two Greek mythological tales, featuring music and lyrics by Anais Mitchell and cast including Dónal Finn, Grace Hodgett-Young, Melanie La Barrie, Gloria Onitiri and Zachary James – what is not to love?

The Big Life, Theatre Royal Stratford East: from the 16th February, the Theatre Royal Stratford East will be reviving the musical for the first time since it made its premiere at the theatre 20 years ago. It combines Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost with the story of those of the Windrush generation, with lyrics by Paul Sirett and music by Paul Joseph, it is a welcome return to London for the musical!

An Enemy of the People, Duke of York’s Theatre: director Thomas Ostermeier makes his West End debut with his revival of Henrik Ibsen’s play, with the cast for the London production being led by Matt Smith (Dr Who). This production was originally produced at Schaubühne Berlin, with the adaption of the play by Ostermeier and Florian Borchmeyer.

Standing At The Sky’s Edge, Gillian Lynne Theatre: beginning performances in the West End from the 9th February, this Olivier Award winning musical transfers to the Gillian Lynne Theatre following runs at the National Theatre and Sheffield Theatres. Featuring songs by Richard Hawley (Pulp), the musical is a love letter to Sheffield that charts the story of three generations over the course of six decades.

Before After, Southwark Playhouse: this brand new musical by Stuart Matthew Price and Timothy Knapman, first appeared as a live stream from Southwark Playhouse in 2020 having had a UK workshop in the studio space at The Other Palace (previously known as the St. James Theatre) as well as successful productions in Japan and on tour around the Netherlands. It is a love story about a couple who are given a second chance at love and is set to star Grace Mouat and Jacob Fowler.

Hir, Park Theatre: Emmy and Golden Globe award winner, and Academy Award nominee Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives, Transamerica) is set to make her UK stage debut in this revival of Taylor Mac’s comedy that modernises the dysfunctional family drama. Directed by Steven Kunis, the cast also includes Steffan Cennydd, Thalía Dudek and Simon Startin.

Double Feature, Hampstead Theatre: Jonathan Kent returns to the Hampstead Theatre to direct this world premiere of John Logan’s (Red) play that examines exactly where the power in Hollywood actually sits. The cast of characters featured in the play include Alfred Hitchcock (played by Ian McNeice), Tippi Hedren (played by Joanna Vanderham), Vincent Price (played by Jonathan Hyde) and Michael Reeves (played by Rowan Polonski) and will un at the theatre from the 8th February until the 16th March.
