NEWS: The Royal Opera’s Production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly to Return to Cinemas

Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier’s production will have a live screening in cinemas on the 26th March, with encore performances from the 31st March.

This production of Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly will be available to be seen live in 966 cinemas across 22 countries around the world later this month.

Madama Butterfly will mark Asmik Grigorian’s House debut as Cio-Cio-San following critically acclaimed performances in Rusalka (2023) and Jenůfa (2021). She stars alongside Joshua Guerrero, who is reprising his role as Lieutenant Pinkerton, Jette Parker Artists Programme alumni, Hongni Wu (Suzuki), Lauri Vasar (Sharpless) and Ya-Chung Huang (Goro).

This revival is conducted by Kevin John Edusei who leads the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
