Interview With…Rebekah Hinds

We chatted to Rebekah about reprising her role in Kathy and Stella Solve A Murder which transfers to the Ambassadors Theatre from the 25th May until the 14th September.

Hi Rebekah, how does it feel to be reprising your role as Stella? Well my IBS has been flaring and I’m in a constant state of fight or flight. So what does that say? I guess that I’m oscillating between nervous, excited and indifferent. I love Stella. I feel the pressure to do the role justice. I can’t wait to be back in the rehearsal room and see how this version develops!

What appealed to you about doing the show initially? When I first got offered the workshop, my friend Patrick Vaill turned to me and said ‘you have to do this one, you’re a connoisseur of the criminal mind.’ Add northern humour and banging tunes to the mix and what’s not to love really?

For those yet to see Kathy & Stella Solve a  Murder – what can they expect? No spoilers here! I think they should come with no expectations at all and see what they come out with.

How does it feel to be bringing the show to the West End? I love the idea of bringing the show to a whole new set of eyes. London audiences are so eclectic and they’re exposed to so much theatre. I think it’s unlike anything else that’s on at the moment, so it’s a great addition to their theatrical palate.

What have you enjoyed the most about working on the musical so far? I get to eat Hula Hoops on stage.
