The musical which was adapted from Charles Dickens’s novel by Lionel Bart, will open at the Chichester Festival Theatre before heading to the Gielgud Theatre.

It has been confirmed that a new revival of Oliver! will transfer to the West End.
Featuring direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne, the production will open first at Chichester Festival Theatre from the 8th July until the 7th September before heading to the Gielgud Theatre from the 14th December and is currently booking until the 6th April 2025.
The musical follows the story of the title character as he escapes the workhouse and heads to London to find sanctuary in the city’s underworld. Classic songs from the show include: “Food Glorious Food”, “Consider Yourself”,” You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two”, and “As Long As He Needs Me”.
Meanwhile, initial casting has also be confirmed to be led by Simon Lipkin (Elf) as Fagin, Shanay Holmes (Miss Saigon) as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell (The Lord of the Rings) as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins (Dodger) as the Artful Dodger, and Philip Franks (Art) as Mr Brownlow. Further casting will be announced soon, with those already announced also set to star in the production at Chichester.
The creative team includes, co-direction by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy, designer Lez Brotherston, musical supervisor and conductor Graham Hurman, lighting designers Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound designer Adam Fisher, video designer George Reeve, original orchestrator William David Brohn, orchestral adaptator Stephen Metcalfe and casting directors Felicity French CDG and Paul Wooller CDG with children’s casting director Verity Naughton CDG.
