Inside the Rehearsals of… The Baker’s Wife, Menier Chocolate Factory

The revival of the musical will run at the theatre from the 6th July until the 14th September, with official opening night taking place on the 17th July.

Rehearsal images have now been released for the Menier Chocolate Factory’s upcoming production of the revival of  Stephen Schwartz and Joseph Stein’s The Baker’s Wife.  

Directed by  Gordon Greenberg (Barnum, Menier Chocolate Factory) and based on the 1938 French film of the same name by Marcel Pagnol and Jean Giono, The Baker’s Wife includes the songs ‘The World’s Luckiest Man’ and ‘Gifts of Love’.

The cast includes: Bobbie Chambers (Niece), Mark Extance (The Teacher), Josefina Gabrielle (Denise), Jack Gardner (Philippe), Hana Ichijo (Niece), Lucie Jones (Genevieve) Michael Matus (The Marquis), Robyn Rose (Niece), Clive Rowe (The Baker), David Seadon-Young (Antoine), Matthew Seadon-Young (Priest), and Joaquin Pedro Valdes (Dominique). They are joined by Sutara Gayle (Therese), Bart Lambert (Ensemble), Norman Pace (Claude), Liam Tamne (Barnaby), David Pendlebury (Ensemble), Annabelle Williams (Ensemble) and Finty Williams (Hortense).

The Baker’s Wife was last seen in London in 1989 starring Alun Armstrong and Sharon Lee-Hill.
