This newly announced season for the children’s theatre is set to include a range of new commissions, much loved revivals and the continuation of an ambitious touring programme of work.

The season will begin with Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, which arrives in London following a successful UK tour. It will play at the theatre from the 13th September until the 16th November. Suitable for those between the ages of 3-8, the story follows Biff who is a dog but thinks he is a ballerina.

Meanwhile, it will be closely followed into the theatre by The Mystery of Little Angel Theatre in which audiences are invited to join super sleuth Danyah Miller to solve a mystery. It combines live board game elements along with an evidence hunt to ensure that all members of the audience become detectives. It will run at the theatre from the 21st September until the 17th November.

Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’s The Singing Mermaid will return to the Little Angel Theatre this Christmas (23rd November-25th January 2025), following a successful national tour. Featuring music by Barb Jungr it follows the adventures of a mermaid who is tempted away from her friends to join a circus – but not everything is as it seems!

Also at the theatre this Christmas, the Little Angel Theatre presents Rosie Robin and the Christmas Post (23rd November until the 5th January). It is a story of Rosie who is working hard in the post office to make sure that all the Christmas post is getting to everyone in time until a snow storm threatens to disrupt it and all the woodland animals must work together to make sure that no one is disappointed.

In addition to the shows at the theatre, the Little Angel Theatre is also taking their shows out on tour, with touring productions including: Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book (currently six months into a national tour), The Smartest Giant in Town (which returns to the West End this Christmas following a short UK tour), with other Christmas productions/ co-productions including The Snowflake (Birmingham Rep), Finding Santa (Mac Birmingham) and Me… (Tobacco Factory Bristol).

Little Angel Theatre Artistic Director Samantha Lane and Executive Director Peta Swindall introduce the new season: “We’re thrilled to announce a spectacular new season at Little Angel Theatre, featuring two brand new productions – dive into the brain-teasing interactive adventure ‘Mystery of Little Angel Theatre’ combining live board game elements with a thrilling evidence hunt, and for our youngest theatre-goers, ‘Rosie Robin and the Christmas Post’ will bring festive magic and joy. We’re also bringing back two beloved classics: ‘Dogs Don’t Do Ballet’ and ‘The Singing Mermaid’. We look forward to welcoming everyone, from super sleuths to ballet-lovers and mermaid fans to festive enthusiasts, to our season of unforgettable stories and enchanting performances!”
