The original musical starring Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel will take to the stage next year.

It has been announced that Redwood, will begin performances at The Nederlander Theatre from the 24th January 2025, with official opening night taking place on the 13th February 2025.
Written and directed by Tony Award nominee Tina Landau, Redwood was conceived by Landau and Menzel, with additional contributions by Menzel. It had its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse earlier this year.
Jesse is a successful businesswoman, mother and wife. She seems to have it all, but inside, her heart is broken. Finding herself at a turning point, Jesse leaves everyone and everything behind, gets in her car and drives… and drives. Thousands of miles later, she hits the ancient forests of Northern California, where a chance meeting and a leap of faith change her life forever. In the presence of the magnificent, towering redwoods, Jesse finds strange and powerful connections, an unexpected sense of community, and a chance at healing.
The musical features music Kate Diaz and lyrics by Diaz and Landau.
In additional news, further creative team involved with the production was also announced and includes: Haley Bennett (Music Director), Jason Ardizzone-West (Scenic Designer), Toni-Leslie James (Costume Designer), Scott Zielinski (Lighting Designer), Jonathan Deans (Sound Designer), Hana S. Kim (Media Designer) and Melecio Estrella/BANDALOOP (Vertical Movement & Vertical Choreography). Casting is by The Telsey Office/Patrick Goodwin.
Additional casting for the musical has yet to be announced.
