It has been announced that the Oscar winning actress will make her West End debut in the production when it heads to the Duke of York’s Theatre next year.

Brie Larson (Room) is set to star in the UK premiere of Anne Carson’s adaptation of Sophocles’s Elektra which is set to be directed by Tony Award nominee Daniel Fish (Oklahoma!).
While further casting has yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that Elektra will begin performances at Theatre Royal Brighton from the 13th to 18th January 2025, ahead of a run at the Duke of York’s Theatre from the 24th January to 12th April 2025. Opening night has been scheduled for the 5th February 2025. Tickets will become available on the 2nd October.
Elektra, haunted by her father’s assassination, is consumed by grief; a need for survival; and a thirst for vengeance. When her long lost brother Orestes at last returns, she urges him to a savage and terrifying conclusion but at what cost?
Brie Larson is known for her appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as her Oscar winning role in Room, Lessons in Chemistry, Kong: Skull Island, Just Mercy, and Fast X. Talking about being part of the production she said: “I couldn’t be more excited to perform in this Greek drama, or in better company collaborating with Daniel Fish and Anne Carson. Storytelling has always been the way I organize life, feelings and experiences. I look forward to sharing space with the wonderful West End audience while we explore this timeless story.”
