NEWS: Ann Hampton Callaway to Return to London With ‘Sirens of Swing’

The actress and singer has announced her return to The Pheasantry Jazz Club for a limited run from the 25th to the 27th October.

The Tony nominated star of the Broadway musical Swing! has announced a return to London with her brand new show ‘Sirens of Swing’, which will see her performing a selection of songs from To Ella with Love, From Sassy to Divine: The Sarah Vaughan Project and Fever: A Peggy Lee Celebration!

Meanwhile, the live performances will also see Ann performing signature songs by singers such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Anita O’Day, Josephine Baker, Julie London, Etta James, Carmen McCrae among others.

The first half of the show will focus on groundbreaking legends and the second half will spotlight more contemporary greats.

Ann Hampton Callaway is considered to be one of America’s most gifted artists in pop and jazz. As well as being known for Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical “Swing!” and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny”, she made her feature film debut opposite Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon in the Robert De Niro film “The Good Shepherd.”

During her career, she has also released 50 albums as a soloist and guest. Among her honours,  include The Theater World Award, 16 MAC Awards, several Bistro Awards, The Mabel Mercer Award, The Johnny Mercer Award for Songwriting, The Blanton Peale Award for Positive Thinking and her induction into The Women Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her latest album Finding Beauty, Originals Volume 1, was recently released via Shanachie Entertainment.
