NEWS: Max Webster’s Production of Macbeth to be Screened in Cinemas

The news comes as the production transfers from the Donmar Warehouse to the Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited time only.

It has been announced that Max Webster’s production of Macbeth, which is playing in the West End until the 14th December, will be screened in cinemas across the UK and internationally from the 5th February 2025.

Confirmed by Trafalgar Releasing in partnership with the Donmar Warehouse, the production will be screened in cinemas across the UK, US, Australia and selected international territories  next year.

Filmed live at the Donmar Warehouse last year, tickets for the cinema screening will go on sale from the 16th October.

The cast is led by David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch) and Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife, Criminal Record) as the infamous Macbeths alongside: Moyo Akandé, Rob Alexander-Adams, Moyo Akandé, Annie Grace, Jasmin Hinds, Martyn Hodge, Brian James O’Sullivan, , Casper Knopf, Gemma Laurie, Cal MacAninch, Kathleen MacInnes, Alasdair Macrae, Niall MacGregor, Rona Morison, Noof Ousellam, Raffi Phillips, Jatinder Singh Randhawa , Theo Wake, Ros Watt and Benny Young.

Unsettling intimacy and brutal action combine at breakneck speed as Max Webster directs the tale of love, murder, and nature’s power of renewal. Groundbreaking sound design and live Celtic folk music (all played through lightweight headphones provided) immerse the audience in every whisper, cry and thought.
