NEWS: Casting Announced for Boop! The Musical on Broadway

The production is set to begin performances at the Broadhurst Theatre from the 11th March, with official opening night taking place on the 5th April.

Casting has now been set for the upcoming Broadway run of Boop! The Musical, which had a run in Chicago last year.

The Broadway production’s cast will be led by Jasmine Amy Rogers as Betty Boop herself, reprising her role from the Chicago run. Meanwhile, she will be joined by:  Faith Prince as Valentina,  Ainsley Melham as Dwayne, Erich Bergen as Raymond, Stephen DeRosa as Grampy, Anastacia  McCleskey as Carol, Angelica Hale as Trisha, Phillip Huber (Pudgy the Dog), and Aubie Merrylees as  Oscar. Further casting will be announced soon.

For almost a century, Betty Boop has won hearts and inspired fans around the world with her trademark looks, voice, and style. Now, in BOOP!, Betty’s dream of an ordinary day off from the super-celebrity in her black-and-white world leads to an extraordinary adventure of color, music, and love in New York City—one that reminds her and the world, “You are capable of amazing things.” Boop-oop-a-doop!

The musical is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell and features  music by David Foster, lyrics by Susan Birkenhead and book by Bob Martin.

Meanwhile, the creative team also includes: David Rockwell, set design; Gregg Barnes, costumes; Philip S. Rosenberg, lighting; Gareth Owen, sound design; Finn Ross, projection design; Sabana Majeed, hair and wig design; Michael Clifton, makeup design; Skylar Fox, illusions design; The Huber Marionettes, marionette design; Daryl Waters, music supervision and arrangements; Doug Besterman, Orchestrations; Zane Mark, dance music arrangements; and Andrew Resnick, music direction and additional arrangements.
