Just as with London, Broadway is set to have some exciting shows opening next year. Here’s a few that might have you booking your flights to New York!

Boop! The Musical, Broadhurst Theatre: following its run in Chicago last year, this latest musical project featuring direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell is heading to Broadway from the 11th March. Featuring the iconic cartoon character Betty Boop (who is set to be played by Jasmine Amy Rogers) this is set to be a fun-filled adventure!
Good Night, and Good Luck, Winter Garden Theatre: George Clooney will be making his Broadway debut in this stage adaptation based on the 2005 Oscar winning film that focuses on the real-life conflict between journalist Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Glengarry Glen Ross: while theatre and dates have yet to be confirmed for this revival of David Mamet’s play, it is sure to be one of the hottest tickets on Broadway when it arrives sometime during the Spring season. Directed by Patrick Marber, the cast is set to include Kieran Culkin, Bob Odenkirk and Bill Burr.
Waiting for Godot: set to be heading to the New York stage late 2025, this revival of Samuel Beckett’s play is set to be directed by Jamie Lloyd and will star Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Further details about the production have yet to be unveiled.

Redwood, The Nederlander Theatre: hurrah! Musical theatre fans rejoice – Idina Menzel is returning to the New York stage early in 2025 to star in this brand new musical which she also helped to co-create. It will be performed from the 24th January 2025 with official opening night set for the 13th February.
Just in Time, Circle in the Square Theatre: another popular star of Broadway, Jonathan Groff will also be taking to the stage once more next year in a brand new musical based on the life and career of Bobby Darin. It will open for previews on the 28th March with official opening night set for the 23rd April.

Operation Mincemeat, Golden Theatre: the Olivier Award winning production from SpitLip, which originally premiered off-West End at the New Diorama Theatre is heading across the pond to begin a Broadway run from the 15th February. It is going to be exciting to see how American audiences respond to this musical based on true events.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Marquis Theatre: based on the hit Netflix series and currently having a successful run in the West End, this stage adaptation is preparing to thrill American audiences when it begins performances on the 28th March. Featuring a script by Kate Trefry, the production is directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin.

Othello, Barrymore Theatre: a double whammy here with Denzel Washington in the title role plus Jake Gyllenhaal as Iago in this Broadway revival of Shakespeare’s play. But of course from a UK perspective – Molly Osborne is making her Broadway debut as Desdemona! It will be directed by Kenny Leon and will begin performances on the 24th February.
The Last Five Years, Hudson Theatre: it is hard to believe that this will be the first Broadway run of Jason Robert Brown’s musical when it begins its run on the 18th March. Starring Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, the show follows a couple as they fall in and out of love across five years.
