The production will begin performances at the London theatre from the 9th December.

Rehearsal images have now been released for the UK premiere of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet 1812, which begins performances at the Donmar Warehouse next month for a strictly limited run.
The production, which marks new Artistic Director Tim Sheader’s directorial debut at the venue, is set to star: Declan Bennett (Pierre), Chumisa Dornford-May (Countess Natasha Rostova), Daniel Krikler (Fedya Dolokhov), Eugene McCoy (Prince Bolkonsky/Andrey), Annette McLaughlin (Marya Dimitriyevna), Maimuna Memon (Sonya Rostova), Jamie Muscato (Anatole), Cedric Neal (Balaga), Chloe Saracco (Mary) and Cat
Simmons (Helene Kuragina Bezukhova). the company is completed by with Andrew Berlin, Kimberly Blake, Ali Goldsmith, Chihiro Kawasaki, Nitai Levi and Annie Majin.

Arriving in the glittering opulent world of Moscow High Society, the impulsive and romantic Natasha Rostova awaits the return of her fiancé from the front lines. But when she falls under the spell of an intoxicating aristocrat, it is up to the unlikely hero, Pierre, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation.
The musical is based on a part of Tolstoy’s War and Peace and features music, lyrics and book by Dave Malloy (Ghost Quartet, Preludes). It was nominated for 12 Tony Awards when it ran on Broadway in 2016.

As well as being directed by Tim Sheader, the production’s creative team includes: choreography by Ellen Kane, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, set design by Leslie Travers, costume design by Evie Gurney, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Nick Lidster and Gareth Tucker for Autograph, and musical direction by Sam Young. The casting is directed by Pippa Ailion for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, with Fiona Dunn as associate director, Nuno Silva as associate choreographer, Richard Johnston as associate casting director and Grace Duggan as resident assistant director.
