We can expect a cracking 2025 in terms of the films being released – here’s a guide to some of the films that you can expect…
F1: delve in to the world of Formula 1 with this new sports action film which is set to be released next summer. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, produced by Lewis Hamilton (among others) and starring Brad Pitt, this will be a must see for those who love the sport.
Nickel Boys: already critically acclaimed and gaining genral Oscars buzz around it, this film is based on the 2019 novel The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. The story evolves around two boys who are sent to an abusive reform school called the Nickel Academy in 1960s Florida – so don’t expect an easy ride, but it will certainly be one to watch.
Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning: Tom Cruise returns once more to play the iconic character and as the above teaser trailer shows there is still plenty of life and action left in this film series. The title seems to suggest that it will be the final one – but will it? We will find out next May!
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy: hoorah! Bridget is heading back to our screens in a brand new film based on the book series by Helen Fielding. This fourth film is going to have a very different feel to it as Bridget copes with life as a single mother while trying to get back in to the dating game – something tells us there is tears and laughter to be found in this instalment and we only have until February to wait!
Maria: Angelina Jolie brings to life the renowned opera singer Maria Callas in Pablo Larraín’s latest film that focuses on iconic female personalities, having previously delved into the lives of Jacqueline Kennedy and Princess Diana. Set for release in early January, this will be a film to catch if you have enjoyed his previous films.
Snow White: Disney’s latest live action film based on the original animated film, which was released back in 1937, with this version in cinemas from the 21st March 2025. Directed by Marc Webb, the film stars Rachel Zegler, Andrew Burnap, and Gal Gadot.
Freakier Friday: for those of us who grew up with the 2003 film, the news that Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan were going to be reprising their roles was exciting news. While we do have a bit of a wait before it is released in cinemas, prepare for more of the same – but maybe from a different perspective to match the times and will hopefully win a brand new audience!
