The production will run at the Bush Theatre from the 30th January until the 1st March.
The cast and creative team have been announced for the upcoming world premiere of Babirye Bukilwa’s ….Blackbird Hour.
Directed by Malakaï Sargeant, the production will star: Evlyne Oyedokun (Autistic as Fuck, Cinderella), Olivia Nakintu (Mango, Am I Being Unreasonable) and Ivan Oyik (by their fruits, Shook, Blue/Orange).
Eshe hasn’t left the flat.
Loved-ones keep reaching out: blowing up her phone and showing up at her front door. They say they’re going to “save” her. She’s not saying anything back.
Until, in the dark early hours, surrounded by half-eaten food, dirty washing and a damn good playlist, she focuses on the letter in front of her.
The production’s creative team includes: design by Khadija Raza, lighting design by Jahmiko Marshall, sound design and composition by Mwen and creative captions and video design by Will Monks.
