Drew Gasparini‘s new musical will make its West End premiere in concert at the Savoy Theatre on the 28th April 2025.

It has been announced that Melanie La Barrie(Hadestown; &Juliet) will join the cast of We Aren’t Kids Anymore in the role of Drew 5, alongsidepowerhouseJenna Lee-James (Frozen;We Will Rock You) as Drew 6/ Featured Artist.
They join the previously announced Dylan Mulvaney (Attitude’s Woman of the Year 2023, a Forbes 30Under 30 Honouree, and star of one-woman show FAGHAG), Olivier award-winnerSam Tutty (Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York); Dear Evan Hansen)and WestEnd icon Aimie Atkinson(SIX The Musical; Pretty Woman).
Originally an autobiographical tale, WE AREN’T KIDS ANYMORE has evolved into a poignant exploration of the complex, yet fundamentally universal, experience of navigating our path through life, and all the emotional multiplicity it brings; the highest joys, the deepest regrets, and the fleeting moments of pride – life is often a series of guesses, punctuated by key moments of feeling as we negotiate its inevitable failures and successes.
This performance follows a workshop in June 2024 which marked the first stage presentation of Gasparini’s viral concept album We Aren’t Kids Anymore. Gasparini is recognised for his music inSmash, as well as the scores for Broadway musicals;The Karate Kid, SkittlesCommercial: The Broadway Musical and It’s Kind of a Funny Story.
As well as this musical itself, the second act of the show will be showcasing Gasparini in concert.Joined by the cast and special invited guests, Gasparini will present a selection of his work. Andrew Kober (Beetlejuice; School of Rock) and Tony Bayliss (We Will Rock You; Tommy) are the first of the special guests to be announced.
The production is directed by Jake Smith, musical supervision and direction by Lauren Hopkinson, set and costume design by Mona Camille, lighting design by Zoe Spurr and sound design by Paul Gatehouse.
