The musical based on film starring Whitney Houston, is set to open at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre on Saturday 20th September 2025.
Producers Michael Harrison & David Ian have announced further dates for the 2025/2026 UK and Europe tour of The Bodyguard.
In addition to the previously announced Birmingham, Blackpool, Oxford, Aberdeen, Milton Keynes and Zurich, it has now been announced that the show will also play at Munich, Southend, Manchester, Truro, Sheffield, Wimbledon, Berlin, Frankfurt, Southampton, Sunderland, Belfast, Leicester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Llandudno, Bradford, Liverpool, Norwich, Woking, Plymouth, Nottingham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Dublin and Eastbourne.
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love.
The musical features hit Whitney Houston songs such as Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and I Will Always Love You.
Casting for this new tour of the production has yet to be announced.
The Bodyguard is directed by Thea Sharrock with a book by Oscar winning Alex Dinelaris. It had its world premiere at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End and was nominated for four Olivier Awards. A sell out 18 month UK and Ireland tour followed, before the show returned to the West End at the Dominion Theatre ahead of two further sell out tours of the UK and Ireland in 2018/19 and 2023.
