NEWS: National Tour Announced for The Beekeeper of Aleppo

UK Productions has announced a tour of the stage adaptation of  Christy Lefteri’s best selling novel, adapted for the stage by Nesrin Alrefaai and Matthew Spangler.

The Beekeeper of Aleppo tells the storyof Nuri, a beekeeper; and his wife, Afra, an artist. They live a simple life, rich in family and friends, in the beautiful Syrian city of Aleppo – until the unthinkable happens. When all they care for is destroyed by war, they are forced to escape. On their terrifying journey, they must face the pain of their own unbearable loss alongside incredible danger. Above all, they must journey to find each other again. 

The production produced in association with UK Productions premiered at Nottingham Playhouse in early 2023 and went on to tour the UK.

This production is directed by Miranda Cromwell, with further creative team and casting yet to be announced.

Following its run in Nottingham, the production will then visit: Aylesbury Theatre (3 – 7 March), Richmond Theatre (10 – 14 March), Guildford Yvonne Arnaud Theatre (17 – 21 March), Salisbury Playhouse (24 – 28 March), Theatre Royal Bath (31 March – 4 April), Malvern Theatre (14 -18 April), Storyhouse Chester (21 -25 April), Oxford Playhouse (5 – 9 May), Theatre Severn Shrewsbury (19 -23 May), Theatre Royal Brighton (9 – 13 June), with more venues to be announced.
