We chatted to Colin about Girl From the North Country, returning to the Old Vic Theatre now playing until the 23rd August.

How does it feel to be back in Girl from the North Country? After having done the show on the West End in 2019-2020 and on Broadway in 2021-2022, it’s a really a beautiful experience to revisit the show again. I’m personally in a very different place in my life and I feel the piece deeper than ever before.
What do you enjoy the most about being part of the show? I love the juxtaposition of energy that exists in this show between the hardness of the characters when they are talking (or yelling haha) and the pure beauty of the characters when they expose their inner life by singing. It’s almost like doing two different shows! I also love the community aspect of this show. We have had such a great group of actors every time I have done the show!
For those who have yet to experience the show, what can they expect? To laugh and cry… at the same time!!!!
What have you enjoyed the most about your career to date? I’ve been fortunate enough to split my time working in film, television, and theatre between the USA, England, and France! Working internationally is exciting because each country has its own style of how they do things, and constantly adapting myself between stage work and camera work keeps me on my toes artistically.
Would there be any other character in the show that you would like to play? I would love to play the role of Reverend Marlowe because he is such an unpredictable character with dark energy that really intrigues me!!! And I love playing the bad guy!!!
