The production will play at the Tabard Theatre in London from the 2nd to the 20th September, ahead of a tour of Elmbridge.

It has been announced that marking the 50th anniversary of the death of writer RC Sherriff (Journey’s End) with its first London revival since its 1950 West End premiere, Home at Seven returns to the stage this September.
Home at Seven takes place five years after the end on the Second World War. The country is still recovering from years of bomb damage, and its people continue to endure rationing and are trying to restore normality after six years when everything had been turned on its head. David Preston is at the centre of this gripping mystery drama. An ordinary decent citizen, he is caught in a waking nightmare when he returns home from work to his wife to find that 24 hours have elapsed without him even realising it. It is now a day later than he thought. As hard as he tries, he cannot recall the events of the missing day or explain away evidence that implicates him in theft and murder.
Directed by Claire Evans, the cast is set to include: Maddie Crofts, Sam Ellis, Greg Fitch, Bridget Lambert, Karl Moffatt, Jeremy Todd and Andrew Williams.
Following its run in London the production will then tour across Elmbridge to the following venues:
27 Sept Vera Fletcher Hall, Elmbridge
4 Embercourt Rd, Thames Ditton KT7 0LQ
29 Sept The Barn Theatre, West Molesey
70 High St, Molesey, West Molesey KT8 2LY
1 – 2 Oct Riverhouse Barn, Walton
Manor Rd, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2PF
3 Oct Michael Frayn Theatre, Kingston
70 London Road, Kingston-upon-Thames KT2 6PY
Talking about the production, director Claire Evans said: “Sherriff’s legacy has been somewhat dominated by the success of Journey’s End, and so, in this anniversary year, I was keen to look at his other work and, in my research, I came upon Home at Seven. It is a mystery drama set and written in 1950, five years after the end of the second World War when the country was still in recovery, dealing with rationing and processing the six years in which everything had been up ended. I saw some resonance with our own times, having so recently gone through the shock of 2020. The play is about an unremarkable man navigating his way through an extraordinary series of events.”
The revival production’s creative team includes: Set designer David Fitzhugh, Costume designer Janet Huckle and Lighting designer and DSM Marta Fossati.
