Situated in Venice, the hotel reopens its doors to guests following an extensive renovation.

Today marks a brand new chapter in the history of Hotel Gabrielli Venezia – Starhotels Collezione, which officially is now welcoming back guests.
Home to one of the city’s largest private gardens and terraces with breathtaking lagoon views, this historic Venetian palazzo is located on the prestigious Riva degli Schiavoni, just a few steps from Piazza San Marco.
Dating from the 14th century, the palazzo now unveils the restored chandeliers, painstakingly rebuilt with local artisans to light the new, refined, and sumptuous interiors of an iconic, Grand Tour-style hotel. Offering views of San Giorgio Maggiore Island and the San Marco lagoon, the hotel offers a contemporary yet profoundly authentic Venetian experience that is strong, directional, and deeply respectful of the city’s heritage.
“With Hotel Gabrielli, we complete a vision we have long held for Venice: to offer our guests two complementary yet distinct experiences in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. After Splendid Venice, behind Piazza San Marco, we now bring our excellence to Riva degli Schiavoni,” comments Elisabetta Fabri, Starhotels President and CEO. “Today, we open the doors to what we aspire to become Venice’s new signature address. Here, guests won’t simply visit the city, they’ll experience it at its most luminous, from the lagoon’s most privileged vantage as part of an exclusive community.”
The hotel is still owned by the Perkhofer family, who have been its custodians since 1856 and are now in their fifth generation. For this restoration, Milanese designer Andrea Auletta and his studio preserved original architectural details while incorporating refined modern touches, creating a deeply authentic Venetian atmosphere where Murano chandeliers, Istrian stone columns, and coffered ceilings coexist with contemporary design. Hotel Gabrielli is now operated by Starhotels as part of its prestigious Collezione brand, perfectly aligned with La Grande Bellezza – The Dream Factory, the Group’s project dedicated to celebrating Italian craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
The hotel is formed of just 66 rooms and suites including the grand Presidential Suite, which features a private rooftop altana terrace with unparalleled panoramic views over the city and lagoon.
Other aspects of the building that have been restored include the façade, meticulously rejuvenated to its original splendor, features the magnificent Quadrifora windows, now the emblem of the new Gabrielli and a striking architectural highlight of its most extraordinary suites, overlooking San Giorgio Maggiore. Hidden at the back of the hotel lies a 600 sqm private garden, which features olive trees, magnolias, hydrangeas, and evergreen borders set among with antique marble tubs, adding a touch of history to the greenery.
Meanwhile, at the hotel’s Felice al Gabrielli Restaurant, guests can enjoy an intimate, refined setting that opens onto a quiet internal courtyard enhanced by jute-effect fabrics and native plants, evoking the discreet atmosphere of a winter garden. Led by the Venetian Executive Chef Mirko Pistorello, here, quality emerges from the commitment to ingredients sourced from local supply chains following the Km Veneto ethos.
Elsewhere, the K Lounge Bar with its warm tones and natural materials, serves as the vibrant centrepiece of Gabrielli, where the food & beverage offering draws inspiration from the flavours of the lagoon.
If guests visit the sixth floor, the Terrazza Gabrielli extends over 150 sqm, offering a mesmerising 360-degree panorama of Venice, from the Lido to the Punta della Dogana and San Marco’s lagoon. Here, guest can enjoy a Sunset aperitivi on the rooftop features signature cocktails by Bar Manager Diego Filippone and dishes by Chef Pistorello, each with a local origin and story.
