The newly announced afternoon tea will be available daily from the 16th September until the 31st March 2026.

This month sees the launch of a limited-edition Afternoon Tea experience celebrating Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, in collaboration with LW Entertainment at the Sofitel London St James.
Available daily, between 12pm – 5:30pm, this afternoon tea inspired by the long-running West End musical has been designed by pastry chef Lerrick Coelho who has split the Afternoon Tea into three ‘acts’ where delicate flavours collide with rich spices and complex textures.
The menu is set to include: brioche sandwiches filled with St. Ewe’s egg black truffle mayonnaise sitting alongside Cornish crab tartlets and John Ross smoked salmon on malted grain. Vanilla and rose mousse with raspberry confit accompanied by an Opalys 33% white chocolate mask, and vibrant petit-fours include ingredients such as dark chocolate mousse, Granny Smith apple, and an elegant nod to the musical with a mango, passion fruit and coconut opera cake.
Talking about the news, Marie-Paule Nowlis, General Manager of Sofitel St James commented: “We are so proud to launch such an iconic Afternoon Tea experience, created in close collaboration with LW Entertainment and brought to life through the artistry of Lerrick Coelho. There is a beautiful synergy between Sofitel as a French brand, and the timeless story inspired by the Palais Garnier in Paris, and we are confident this collaboration will resonate deeply with our guests.”
With prices starting from £70 per person, guests can upgrade the experience to include a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut or a Rosé Fizz cocktail for £80 per person. Gluten free, vegetarian and plant-based menus are available.
To date The Phantom of the Opera has played to over 160 million people in more than 200 cities, 58 territories and 21 languages since it opened in 1986.
