NEWS: Casting Confirmed for Revival of Stephen Schwartz’s ‘Pippin’

Casting has now been confirmed for the upcoming revival of ‘Pippin’ which features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson.

Directed and choreographed by Amanda Noar, the cast is led by Lewis Edgar (Les Misérables) will play Pippin, while Emily Friberg will play the Leading Player.

They will be joined in the musical by: Clare Brice as Berthe, Helena Caldas as Fastrada, Oliver Wood as King Charlemagne and Mia Quimpo, making her professional debut as Catherine. The ensemble features George Kipa, Imogen Amos and Daniel North, who is also making his professional debut.

A dazzling troupe of travelling performers converges to tell the story of a young prince’s pursuit of purpose. Hypnotised by the glitz and glamour, Pippin chases glory in battle, temptation in love, and power on the throne only to discover that the brighter the bulbs, the darker the shadows.

Officially opening at the theatre on the 17th December, the musical is being presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Meanwhile, the creative team behind the show also includes: Isaac Bernier-Doyle as associate director, Harry Style as musical director and Hannah Danson as set and costume designer. Pippin is produced by Annlouise Butt for Chromolume, with artwork by Sam Cannon.
