NEWS: Further Casting Confirmed for Elsinore

Additional casting has now been unveiled for ‘Elsinore’ , a new film based on the life of actor Ian Charleson.

Directed by Simon Stone, the film will see Andrew Scott as the leading character as well as Olivia Coleman. Joining them will be Billie Piper (Doctor Who), Johnny Flynn, Luke Thompson, Monica Dolan (Appropriate), Juliet Stevenson, Joe Locke, Adeel Akhtar (The Cherry Orchard), Matthew Beard (Skylight), David Dawson (The Duchess of Malfi), Kadiff Kirwan (Slow Horses), Dickie Beau (Re-Member Me) and BAFTA winner Peter Mullan (Ozark).

Written by Stephen Beresford (Pride), the film is focused on the time in Charleson’s life who faced incredible odds while preparing to give the performance of his life in Hamlet at the National Theatre in London, having taken over the role from Daniel Day-Lewis.

The film is set to be released  theatrically in  in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand, with Lucky Red handling distribution in Italy.

Among those also involved with the film are: cinematographer Mike Eley, production designer Helen Scott, costume designer Mel Page and editor Valerio Bonelli, with casting by Jessica Ronane.
