NEWS: Brixton House Announces New Season

Following on from the theatre’s win at the Stage Awards 2026 for ‘Campaign of the Year’ in recognition for placing people and cultural value at the heart of its audiences and celebrating bold artistry and deep community connection, Brixton House Theatre has announced its new season.

From the 11th to the 21st February, Roots Mbili Theatre heads to the theatre with ‘Far Gone’, marking the company’s London debut  following tours across South Africa, the US and Taiwan. This one-man performance traces a young boy’s journey from innocence to survival.

My Uncle Is Not Pablo Escobar returns to Brixton House from the 7th April until the 3rd May. The 2023 production puts Latinx women from South London centre stage as several characters risk everything to expose a multinational bank.

This will then be followed by a production of Paula Varjack’s Nine Sixteenths, which will run at the theatre from the 19th to the 30th May. Developed Complicité, the production takes audiences back to the 2004 SuperBowl halftime show in which Janet Jackson’s career was derailed when Justin Timberlake exposed her breast on screen for nine sixteenths of a second. It explores the moment and who was invested in the backlash through theatre, dance and lip sync.

Brixton House will also be hosting the fourth edition of Housemates Festival, its month-long showcase for emerging artists, with submissions open until 20 February. Alongside the theatre programme, the season includes literary events, youth theatre, community workshops and free family activities.
