The city is filled with rich art history and stunning surroundings, making it a city well worth visiting. Here’s a few places we would love to stay while making the most of everything that it has to offer.

This boutique hotel has caught our eye given its simple but elegant grandeur that looks as though it would make anyone feel at home. It captures a hint of the renaissance history with flashes of contemporary style. In addition the range of relaxed areas that have been designed to celebrate the best parts of Italy, makes it look as though its a fantastic place to rest up after a day of sight seeing. Having had a look at the reviews previous guests have had plenty of positive things to say as well!
La Gemma:
Ok while this might be one of the more expensive hotels on our list, this five star hotel caught our eye not only because of its central location but also for its intimacy. The use of green and strong evidence of plants and nature everywhere just makes it come across as a soothing stay – enhanced further by its gorgeous looking spa. It is also situated close by to the iconic cathedral Di Santa Maria Del Fiore and key museums that for anyone loving their culture will want to visit.
One of the most recent additions to Florence’s expanding hotel business, this hotel feels as though it is filled with Tuscan charm and definitely a luxurious place to stay. What is clear from the images is that it has thoroughly embraced the city’s renaissance history in a subtle way, while also capturing how the city has evolved. It is set in a stunning location that is sure to impress guests.
Palazzo Portinari Salviati:
This is certainly one of the grandest hotels on our wish list to stay at! Based in a mansion that was built in the 1400’s, it is clear that the hotel it has transformed into respects this. Looking at the incredible designs of the rooms that appear to have retained some of the original mansion, while the spa also sounds incredible for modern guests to enjoy. it includes an indoor pool with w a water temperature of 34° which integrates an ozone treatment system and steam bath and sauna to help revive you. The whole layout of the hotel looks completely awe-inspiring.
The Hotel Santa Maria Novella:
This four star hotel is perfectly located to do some sight seeing being just around the corner from the Basillica Santa Maria Novella and six minute walk from the cathedral Santa Maria Del Fiore. The rooms look exceptionally cosy (although perhaps some of the bold colourings and designs might not be to everyone’s tastes) and richly furnished. The whole hotel looks utterly decadent.
