We chatted to Desmonda about starring in the semi-staged production of Chris Broom’s musical ‘Rosie’ at the Adelphi Theatre on the 17th March.

Hi Desmonda, how does it feel to be part of ‘Rosie’?
Hi, London Love Culture! Feels amazing! Always excited to be a part of the development of a new musical!).
What does it mean to you to be part of bringing a new musical to the stage?
It means that I get to be a part of a journey, and every contribution I make in this journey will be a part of it down the line!
What can audiences expect from the show?
Truly gorgeous, swelling, and emotional pieces of music, some that we haven’t heard in musical theatre canon in a very long time.
Could you tell us a bit more about your character Lily?
She’s someone who’s had so much hardship in her life but is so strong that she’s still able to be kind and positive and supportive!
How has it been working on bringing ‘Rosie’ to life?
As it is working on any new piece of work and we are doing it in a very short amount of time, it’s hard work but also so exciting, and most of the time we truly don’t know what’s gonna come out of every working day, and that’s the fun of it haha
-Have you a favourite number in the show?
I love I Still Believe in Love, the solo number I will be singing, because I’m biased haha!
How would you describe the show musically?
Grand and emotional!
