The film is set to be released in cinemas next month.
A brand new trailer has now been released for writer-director John Carney’s (Sing Street, Once) latest film Power Ballad which is set to be released in cinemas on the 29th May.
When Rick (Paul Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny (Nick Jonas) during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves – even if it means risking everything he cares about.
Set to be released by Lionsgate, the film is a story of music, self-respect, friendship, and the price of ambition.
Carney co-wrote Power Ballad with Peter McDonald. Carney produces alongside Anthony Bregman, Peter Cron, Rebecca O’Flanagan and Robert Walpole.
Nick Jonas most recently appeared with fellow Jonas Brothers stars and siblings Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas in last year’s Disney+ holiday comedy A Very Jonas Christmas Movie. He is also set to star in the upcoming sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level.
Meanwhile, Paul Rudd starred in 2025’s Anaconda and reprises his role as Ant-Man in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
