Interview With…Liam Doyle

It’s an absolute privilege. I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with the show since this version was created at Curve in December 2024. The fact that we are now in the West End blows my mind on a daily basis and is something I will never take for granted.

I think the show is an incredible night out but also tells a really important story with a strong message. To be able to have an absolute ball on stage every night but also seeing the audience relate to the story gives us the best stage to audience connection I’ve ever experienced.

I love Sex Is In The Heel. It’s the first time when our entire cast is on stage together in the show and having the angels join us in the factory always give me the absolute buzz.

It’s a story of how people from any walk of life can come together to achieve something truly beautiful. It’s about accepting people for who they are.

I have loved every second. Working with Nikolai Foster and Leah Hill has made this whole experience truly collaborative. We’ve been able to throw ourselves fully into the show and I hope it shows when an audience watches it.

I think the message behind the show is something that will never tire or go out of style, and when it is paired with brilliant music written by Cyndi Lauper… it’s a recipe for a brilliant show. I think in the show there is a character that every member of the audience can see themselves in. Whether that’s a fabulous drag queen or factory
worker who discovers there’s so much more to the world than they ever realised.
