The stage adaptation of Graham Greene’s book will open at the Theatre Royal Windsor from Wednesday 1 July until Saturday 11 July 2026 before embarking on a UK tour.

It has been announced that Jack Ashton (Call The Midwife, BBC; Lockerbie, Sky) will star as ‘Wormold’, with Bob Barrett (Holby City and Father Brown, BBC) as ‘Voice 2’, Leon Ockenden (Waterloo Road, BBC; Mr. Selfridge, ITV) as ‘Voice 3’ and Jodie Steele (Heathers The Musical, London & New York; Malory Towers, BBC) as ‘Voice 4’ in this production directed by Philip Wilson.
Our Man in Havana, adapted by Clive Francis from Graham Greene’s novel, follows the hilarious exploits of James Wormold, a British vacuum cleaner salesman in pre-revolutionary Havana, Cuba.
Struggling financially to support his spoiled daughter, Wormold is recruited by MI6 agent Hawthorne to be a spy. Lacking any actual spy skills or intentions, Wormold fabricates an entire network of fictional agents and reports, using his imagination and local bar conversations.
His absurd reports, claiming to depict secret weapons, are taken seriously by MI6, leading to real-world consequences as the Cuban government grows suspicious.
After its opening run in Windsor, the production will tour to Salisbury Playhouse (Tuesday 14 – Saturday 18 July), Oxford Playhouse (Tuesday 28 July – Saturday 1 August), Theatre Royal Bath (Tuesday 4 – Saturday 8 August), Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford (Tuesday 11 – Saturday 15 August), Cheltenham Everyman Theatre (Tuesday 18 – Saturday 22 August), Malvern Theatres (Tuesday 25 – Saturday 29 August) and Cambridge Arts Theatre (Tuesday 1 – Saturday 5 September).
The creative team will also feature set and costume design by Julie Godfrey, lighting design by Nick Richings, and sound design by Andy Graham.
